CM 12.1 OFFICIAL INSTALLATION GUIDE AND REVIEW FOR MI3.

HERE IS THE COMPLETE GUIDE FOR INSTALLING CM 12.1 ON OUR BELOVED MI3.

please dont spam up the forum with cm 12.1 links and stupid posts.

WHAT YOU NEED ?

Ofcourse Mi3 handset,cwm recovery r11 by furniel and donbot,some patience,cm 12.1 rom and gapps file.

**Do make a backup of your phone and data 

**This rom is based on android lollipop 5.1

Installation guide:

first of all please use cwm,i dont know about the ota updates but i'l keep you updated.

here starts the guide.

(Ota solution given below)

boot into recovery and by pressing volume up + lock button.

welcome to cwm recovery 

Put the Gapps and cm rom package in the root of your phone memory.

Do a factory reset.
Wipe cache.
Wipe dalvik cache.

After completing the above procedure select install zip from sd card.
Select the CM rom zip file and let it get installed.
In the same way select the gapps zip file and install it.
After the completion of the installation Reboot your phone.

So here is something where many of us do get stuck up and the phone gets stuck in bootloop,

if you are stuck in bootloop then follow these steps:

in cwm recovery you have to select advanced and choose the active system as 1.

[this should be done prior to installation]

Reboot, wait for 3-4 minutes while its trying to boot

Go back to recovery

When the phone is stuck press and hold the switch off button until the phone goes off and then quickly press the volume up+power button yo boot into recovery

Go to mount and storage
Mount system1 to system from CWM Recovery 
Open CWM's aroma file manager, copy the downloaded xml file and put it into /system/etc/permissions/

[Until you mount the above folder wont appear and aroma file manager is file explorer which is given default with cwm to access files when the phone is stuck or you you have to access files anyhow.Reboot and enjoy

Enable Root Access Mode:

-Go to settings

-Developer Options (If you didn't find developer options then Go to settings>About Device>Keep on Tapping for 7 times on Build Number. Now go back and see, you will find Developer Options)

-Swipe down till you find Root Access Mode

-Open and Enable it

-Finished

Applied ota update successfully, by manually applying the update, keep in mind to disable signature verification.

This rom is based on android lollipop 5.1.1

the rom is rock solid performer and hard to find bug rom.

if we talk about the appearance a cool set of wallpaper has been added.

the lock screen is beautiful as we have seen on the aosp  and mokee rom,with a complete user control.

Here is the antutu benchmark score,none of the settings where changed,while performing the benchmark.

Here is the view of menu pretty similar to aosp

the music player looks beautiful.[same as mokee]i.e.lockscreen music player.
