THUNDERGREEK is here with a latest news about Google, which announces a new android-based OS for the internet of things.
Both Google and Apple are vying to make their products even more ubiquitous by transplanting much of their mobile technology into automobiles and Internet-connected televisions and appliances.
Google hopes to play a prominent role in the management of home security and appliances with a new operating system called Brillo that will interact with Android devices. The new operating system, Brillo, was announced at the company's I/O 2015 conference.
"Brillo extends the Android platform to all your connected devices, so they are easy to set up and work seamlessly with each other and your smartphone," says Google. A developer preview of the Brillo OS is coming in Q3 of this year.
At its annual Google developers conference, Google also offered a preview of Android M, due for release later this year, with an upgraded version of "Google Now," the voice-activated assistant which competes with rivals like Apple's Siri and Microsoft's Cortana.
